AMD together we advance_ JOB TITLE: Product Development Engineer 2 THE ROLE: Join a global quality and reliability (Q&R) team that develops models, methods, and simulation infrastructure to support product qualification decision-making for AMD’s CPU, APU, GPU, SoCs, and FPGA products. The successful candidate will work closely with product Q&R, Test, and Yield teams to enable power-performance-reliability tradeoff analysis and quality optimization. The position requires strong analytical and technical ability as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. THE PERSON: A self-motivated, team player who focuses on collaboration, team building, and expanding team success. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Understand and interpret product failure and parametric data from accelerated stress testing. Perform reliability modeling estimations across varying usage and operating life conditions; model product lifetime conditions. Develop deep working knowledge of AMD’s database structures for storing product manufacturing and test data. Develop models for product stress conditions encountered in the field based on telemetry data. Develop expert-level understanding of reliability failure mechanisms, the underlying physics, and methods for modeling. Provide clear documentation for all models and simulation tools developed. Train users on use of newly developed tools. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Strong foundation in mathematical and statistical analysis, including use of statistical analysis software (e.g. JMP, R, Python). Ability to formulate a mathematical description of real-world problems not encountered in textbooks. Strong communication skills including data presentation. Demonstrated proficiency in coding, preferably Python. Experience with machine learning models is a plus! Proficiency working with databases; knowledge of SQL; experience working with large datasets. Interest in and basic knowledge of semiconductor architecture, fabrication processes, and device physics is a plus! ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Recent college graduate (0-5 yrs experience) with BS/MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent.
