THE ROLE: The successful candidate will assume responsibility for post-silicon activities related to performance characterization and optimization of AMD Datacenter products THE PERSON: You have a passion for computer architecture, along with knowledge of HPC and ML workloads. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/time zones. Must be a quick learner, self-starter and be able to drive multiple tasks to completion. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Become a key stakeholder in power and performance definition process Develop and Execute performance characterization and optimization test plans for different usage scenarios (High performance compute, Machine learning frameworks, etc.). Analyzing interactions between various power management features and optimize their configurations for performance Exploit core architecture bottlenecks to test and mitigate worst case scenarios Support prototyping experiments for improving current and implementing new features that impact performance Debugging and troubleshooting system-level issues that may occur in test environments and platforms Proactively driving continuous improvement for post-silicon performance activities Workload automation for performance data collection PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Strong programming skills: Strong preference for Python, TensorFlow Desirable to be proficient in C or C++, PHP and Shell scripting Good understanding of computer organization/architecture. Strong understanding of HPC and ML workloads Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a key attention to detail Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/Software Engineering LOCATION: Austin, TX #LI-BW1 #LI-Hybrid At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package.
