AMD together we advance_ Position Summary: The Director of Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the engineering department's operations, focusing on continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), build infrastructure, and the deployment of GPU clusters within the enterprise. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise and leadership skills to guide the engineering team in developing scalable, efficient, and secure systems. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Management: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and career development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, operations, and other engineering teams. Develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software products and infrastructure solutions. CI/CD and Build Infrastructure: Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline software development and deployment processes. Oversee the maintenance and improvement of build systems and infrastructure. Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of CI/CD pipelines. Implement best practices for version control, code review, and testing. Cluster Deployment and Management: Lead the deployment and management of GPU clusters for enterprise applications. Optimize cluster performance, ensuring efficient utilization of resources. Implement monitoring and management tools for cluster health and performance. Collaborate with data scientists and researchers to support their computational needs. Technical Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating relevant advancements into the engineering practices. Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team. Drive the adoption of new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance productivity and quality. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the CTO and other senior leaders to align engineering initiatives with business goals. Communicate engineering plans, progress, and challenges to stakeholders. Foster a collaborative and inclusive engineering culture. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Technical Expertise: Strong background in CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI). Experience with build automation and infrastructure management. Proven experience in deploying and managing GPU clusters (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, NVIDIA GPU technologies). Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java. Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire engineering teams. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering scalable solutions. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
