Emulation Infra Engineer

 

THE ROLE: 

AMD's VBU - Virtual Bring-Up Central Methodology team, is hiring a seasoned engineer for develpment and support of infrastructure for Prototyping and Emulation technology. You will help bring to life cutting-edge designs through the "Shift Left" paradigm. As a member of the infrastructure team, you will work across many SOC and IP groups, EDA vendors and VBU piers to develop, improve an promote most advanced methodology and practice.

THE PERSON:

A successful candidate will be highly accurate and detail-oriented, possessing good communication and problem-solving skills; extensive experience working across teams, both internal and external, driving strong collaboration and engagement. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop efficient solutions targeting AMD emulation and prototyping efficiency
  • Work with EDA vendors to implement best practices to ensure most optimal flows 
  • Develop solutions to ensure emulator workload execution performance tracking for the leading-edge performance/throughput.
  • Evaluate, implement and help to improve FPGA-based technologies and platforms
  • Analyze and improve multitude of data, collected through emulation
  • Contribute to testbench development and improvement
  • Be true part of the great team, priding itself in collaborative, supportive and open culture

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Background in emulation or prototyping, familiarity with flows and infrastructure
  • Development skills in Python/Perl, C/C++, Verilog, Unix shell, System Verilog, UVM
  • Proficiency in Unix environment, administrative level preferred
  • Familiarity with SQL is a plus
  • Other useful skills: Perforce, GIT, Jenkins, ELK, PowerBI, VHDL

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
