Director of DDR Validation Engineering

AMD together we advance_ THE ROLE: The Director of DDR Validation Engineering team is the key gatekeeper of quality for our server DDR technologies. The team works as an integral part of our design, product engineering, platform SW, and HW teams to ensure we launch products with highest quality standards on time as committed to our customers. They develop and execute detailed post-silicon validation test plans to ensure functional correctness of all DDR subsystem features and partners closely with the centralized electrical validation teams to ensure we ship robust quality. The validation team must engage from the beginning (to ensure all elements of post-silicon validation readiness and smooth customer solution integration) and stay engaged through post-launch (as our customers continue to expand their offerings based on our products). THE PERSON: The leader must collaborate well with DDR Vendors for both sourcing of material and problem resolution. He/she is the lead server technical leader driving the strategy and execution of collecting (and sometimes developing) and prioritizing the best applications for the validation execution teams to utilize. He/she will often be called upon to consult on how to replicate complex customer environments as simply as possible to support issue triage and to confirm root cause and any proposed solutions. Sound and rapid decision-making skills, ability to handle ambiguity, and consistent visible leadership during customer engagements is a must. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Executive level communications on status, problem resolutions, and decisions required is of utmost importance given the fast-paced environment. Individual will partner closely with Director of the Server System Validation teams (as well as all other product development and business peers) and must be able to lead engineers as One AMD. Knowledge of server CPU memory controller design, feature, and an understanding of pre-silicon and post-silicon flows is a must. Hands-on work on all DDR related technical items including validating and debugging all DDR functional and training features. The role will involve high level visibility of the most senior leaders inside and outside of the company.
