- Own the overall architecture and design of our systems, ensuring scalability, performance, maintainability, and security.
- Hands-on in Ruby, Python, SQL, NoSQL and event-based systems is a must. Overall the individual should be excited to build highly scalable complex distributed systems.
- Mentor and guide engineers on technical best practices, problem-solving, and career development.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Evaluate the technical feasibility and impact of product features.
- Contribute to the definition and refinement of product roadmaps.
- Design, implement, and scale security architecture for a global customer base across multiple regions.
- Develop security frameworks and best practices aligned with global standards (OWASP, NIST, CIS).
- Conduct security design reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments for new and existing systems.
- Secure Amber’s web, API, mobile and platform products used by customers worldwide.
- Integrate SAST, DAST, SCA, and container scanning tools into global CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform code reviews and provide guidance to engineering teams on secure coding principles.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 4 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on backend development.
- Proficiency in Ruby is a must and React is good to have.
- At least 1 year of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying scalable and high-performance backend systems.
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language. Preferable - Python
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of DevOps principles and experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
- Good communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
