Description
- Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or closely related field.
- 4+ years of Cognos TM1 work experience in developing end-to-end analytics solutions, including system configuration, model building, data security, and reporting.
- 2+ years of experience writing high-performance object-oriented Python code in a Linux environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with users in a support and development capacity.
- Quick learner with a positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.

- Experience developing hybrid business solutions that are flexible, scalable and leverage wide range of technologies.
- Knowledge of software development cycle, Git version control, data structures, complexity analysis, unit test and integration tests is a strong plus.
- Experience in providing risk assessment for new functionality and enhancements, and identify process improvement opportunities to drive innovation.
- Relevant corporate finance experience exhibiting knowledge of financial planning functions and related processes.
- Experience advocating and proliferating best practices in reporting and analysis, including data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
- Familiarity with AWS tools, such as: S3, SQS, SNS, RedShift, CloudFormation, CodeCommit, CodeDeploy, IAM Roles.
- Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL and general DW concepts.
- Familiarity and development experience with web services technologies (e.g. REST API, JSON, YAML, XML).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Amazon's Global Media and Entertainment (GME) organization encompasses Prime Video, Amazon Music, Twitch, Audible, and Amazon Games businesses. We are responsible for building and operating systems that allow finance teams to collaborate on planning and provide management and financial reporting for GME leadership. We are seeking an experienced Planning Analytics/TM1 application developer. As part of our team, you will build highly scalable, fully automated planning and reporting platform to support the GME Finance team. This role provides the perfect opportunity to build large applications and expand the skill set into data engineering with the AWS stack, Python and TMPy.

This position requires a high level of expertise within Cognos for technical design, development and integration to solve planning and reporting challenges. This role is about understanding the needs of the business, the data behind it, and how to transform this information into technical solutions that allow the business to make swift, informed decisions. Ideal candidates will have expertise in all phases of the software development life cycle in building models that scale over time while balancing accuracy, flexibility and speed. To support this quickly growing business, you must be highly analytical, possess a strong passion for building analytical product, setting high standards, and willingness to jump in to implement new innovative solutions.


Key job responsibilities
- Deliver reliable, scalable, and efficient business solutions by supporting all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, modeling & design, development, testing, deployment, integration, and documentation.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that accelerate cycle times, eliminate cumbersome manual processes, and increase the accuracy of financial forecasts.
- Support the development of standard and ad hoc reports, tools and templates.
- Monitoring compliance with controls and systems, and developing new processes to support the fast-growing, global business.
- Operations support including dimension management, metadata design/maintenance, ETL development, and data validation processes.
