System Development Engineer, GCNA

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant degree/experience.
- 4+ years of professional software development experience in a similar environment.
- 3+ years of programming/scripting experience with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell or Ruby.
- 3+ years of experience in monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving system and software components.
- 3+ years of experience deploying and operating Linux, and operating system fundamentals.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Strong, object-oriented design and coding skills.
- Proficient at designing software systems, from high-availability large-scale distributed systems to your application’s object model.
- Familiarity with building native AWS solutions, asynchronous messaging, and network protocols.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. The AWS Enterprise Networking organization is looking for a System Development Engineer to join our Core Service Automation team. In this role you will work hand-in-hand with System Development teams, Frontend Engineering teams, and Network Engineering teams to drive stability, consistency, and sustainability of the network while never losing sight of the high security bar our customer’s demand. Key job responsibilities
You will be responsible for the design, implementation and quality of services you deliver. Your experience working in a systems development or in an enterprise environment will help us implement automated solutions across a variety of applications and systems.
You’ll also:
•Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security.
•Write high quality distributed system software.
•Work in an agile, startup-like development environment, where you are always working on the most important stuff.
•Work closely with our Network/Systems/Software Engineering teams to ensure fast and smooth roll-out of new designs and products, as well as assist with deployment and sustaining of networking software tools.
