Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. As a Wireless/RF Systems Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative consumer products. You will work closely with internal teams, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, design and execution.

As part of the RF Systems group, you will be responsible for wireless design and integration at Lab126. This includes the development and optimization of various wireless technologies including LTE, GPS, WiFi, BT, mmWave and other IoT technologies. The role requires exposure to various wireless technologies that can be strategically used to intercept new wireless technology or identify new features for the product.
In this role you will:
- Work within a project team and take responsibility for integration of all wireless technologies
- Meet with vendors and technology suppliers to select components and drive future roadmap discussion
- Conceptualize new wireless technologies and optimizations to enable new features for the product
- Simulate, implement, validate and optimize RF circuits (including schematic capture and PCB layout)
- Perform multi-radio coexistence mitigation (including RF link budget planning and issue debugging)
- Characterize and debug desense and EMI issues to meet requirements
- Perform simulations for RF design and desense mitigation (3D EM and circuit level simulations)
- Take the product through development, compliance testing, operator testing, ramp up and sustaining
- Support radiated manufacturing test and defects in the factory
- Work with software, mechanical engineering, baseband and compliance teams

As a Senior engineer he/she will also be mentoring other engineers in order to increase the technical quality for the team.

A day in the life
1) Collaborate with crossfunctional teams like PD, ID, software to design and integrate the best in class RF designs
2) PCB design techniques must be used on a regular basis to come up with novel RFFE that enables the desired ID and thermal budget
3) Study industry trends and influence the wireless roadmap for all products

About the team
The team is a centralized RnD/integration team with focus on wireless design. The team has a mix of engineers from various fields including RF, antenna, EMC and SI/PI
