The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we've designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.

To deliver these complex solutions, as the Sr MES Technical Program Manager you will partner with peers across all Leo teams, including hardware, software, supply chain, manufacturing, launch, facilities, finance, compliance, and HR.

This role includes direct responsibility for program management of MES system-level development, integration, and optimization across the production value stream. This is a highly technical role requiring experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems, data analytics, data modeling, integrated hardware and software, as well as appreciation for complex manufacturing applications and shop floor control systems.

Key job responsibilities
- Own the MES roadmap across production value streams that delivers the end-to-end system capabilities necessary to support sourcing, building, testing, and integrating satellites.
- Establish the linkage between the MES roadmap and annual goals & objectives, creating data models, owning tools and mechanisms to measure, monitor, and optimize MES-supported value streams.
- Drive daily execution working across supply chain, planning, fulfillment, and production teams to ensure MES systems are enabling operational excellence.
- Represent the overall MES roadmap in assessing technical trades related to innovation, speed, manufacturability, cost, stability, and trust.
- Translate strategic goals into actionable MES project plans and system operations initiatives.
- Understand dependencies between MES roadmap projects, synchronize milestones, identify constraints, and dive deep where necessary to unblock and deliver the roadmap.
- Develop and own operational rhythms (WBRs, MBRs, QBRs) for MES programs and production operations teams.
- Identify potential risks in MES deployments and manufacturing processes; develop mitigation strategies and recovery plans.
- Execute a strategic plan that defines how teams will deliver on forward-looking MES capabilities aligned to production rate ramp plans.

A day in the life
This role supports MES capabilities for satellite production. You'll partner with cross-functional stakeholders to drive system execution, process optimization, and roadmap development. Daily work balances strategic planning—tech feasibility assessments, system upgrades—with hands-on project oversight and cross-team coordination. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for engaging production teams, software developers, manufacturing engineers, and vendors. You must advocate for customers, push back constructively, and thrive in ambiguity. Expect novel challenges, collaboration with multiple technical teams, and the opportunity to make a positive impact at scale.

About the team
Project Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The MES team enables production operations by delivering and maintaining the manufacturing execution systems that support planning, manufacturing, integration, and test of the production value stream.

This is a highly technical role requiring experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems and complex manufacturing applications.
