Senior Software Development Engineer

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles
- Experience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. The Platform Engineering and Emerging Technologies (PEET) team is hiring for a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead development and manage operations for AWS Managed Grafana, Managed Prometheus, Wickr, and Kinesis Video Streams! You'll design, deploy, monitor, and automate infrastructure, tools, and software to provide a highly-available and resilient platform for our customers' and our team's workloads.

- Design, deploy, monitor, and automate infrastructure, tools and software to provide a highly-available and resilient platform for our customers' and our team's workloads.
- This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week in every six. We don’t like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don’t get paged for the same issue twice.
