Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Process Development, Kuiper - Solar

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong emphasis on process development.
- Expertise in Cpk/Capabilities analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and process optimization.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Experience with process development and improvement techniques, such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Familiarity with manufacturing systems, automation, and production line optimization.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, MES) and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP, Python)
- Knowledge of material science and product design for manufacturability.
- Certifications in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process development, mechanical engineering, Cpk/Capabilities analysis, and 3D modeling. As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead and manage complex manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient production methods, cost optimization, and product quality. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new manufacturing processes, improve existing ones, and support product development through detailed engineering analysis. This role requires a hands-on approach, technical expertise, and strong leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the development and optimization of manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient and cost-effective production.
- Conduct Cpk and capabilities analysis to assess process performance, production trends, and implement solutions to improve yield and throughput.
- Provide engineering support for manufacturing operations, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing corrective actions.
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing and improving manufacturing tools, fixtures, and equipment.
- Develop and update detailed process documentation, work instructions, and process flow diagrams.
- Collaborate with R&D, design, and production teams to transition new products from concept to production.
- Work on continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process optimization techniques.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians in process development and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
- Participate in product design reviews and provide feedback on manufacturability and cost-efficiency.
