Description
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience

Developers and development teams are key influencers who steer organizational adoption of new technologies, services and platforms. The mission of the Developer Acceleration (DevAx) team is to help developers gain greater familiarity and confidence, building modern, cloud-native applications that take full advantage of AWS’s wide range of services. Through direct developer engagement, DevAx helps customers to address actual business problems and accelerated design, development and deployment of production quality cloud native application workloads.As a DevAx Solution Architect (SA), you will help customers to innovate and scale, applying patterns and architectural best practices for developing and operating full-stack cloud-native workloads. You will collaborate with customers and peers, develop content and enable the wider community to harness the power of the AWS Cloud.In this role, you will continuously sharpen and apply your expertise in programming languages, distributed systems, design patterns and the full software development life-cycle, to upskill developers and development teams on AWS cloud services, the third-party ecosystem and partner solutions.As a trusted advisor with proven technical expertise developing full-stack solutions on AWS Cloud, you will share recommendations around system and application architectures, security and cost considerations, performance, reliability and operational efficiency to speed up the customer’s challenging, mission-critical projects.Internally, you will be the voice of the customer. You will articulate customer needs by synthesizing your observations from customer engagements and market trends around custom-developed workloads to inform the roadmap of AWS service teams.In this role, your creativity will link technology to tangible solutions, with the opportunity to define cloud-native reference architectures for a variety of use cases.You will drive the creation and sharing of best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts) and evangelize and educate about AWS as a cloud development platform (e.g. through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).If you are keen to help AWS customers deliver the art of the possible, while challenging the impossible, come build the future with us.

Key job responsibilities
Design Customer Solutions ­ Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre­sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Elastic Map Reduce (EMR), Redshift, Kinesis, Amazon Machine Learning, AWS Lambda, Data Pipeline, S3, DynamoDB, and the Relational Database Service (RDS)
Engage with Solution Architects, Account Managers, professional services, and partners to develop an Analytics engagement strategy for AWS operational territories and key accounts.
Provide global thought leadership on Analytics solutions that benefit customers through the use of AWS Services. This takes the form of contribution to external publications such as the AWS Big Data Blog, White Papers and Reference architectures, as well as internal training and coaching of Solution Architects, Professional Services Consultants, Technical Account Managers, and AWS Trainers
Serve as a key member of the business development and account management team in helping to ensure customer success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform.
Assist solution providers with the definition and implementation of technical and business strategies.
Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the worldwide AWS solution architect community.
Understand AWS market segments, and industry verticals.
Understand and exploit the use of internal business support systems.

Basic Qualifications:
* Background in software development
* Technical Degree (Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or equivalent) and/or relevant tech experience.
* Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
* A passion for technology and for learning

Preferred Qualifications:
* In-depth working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience designing, developing, refactoring and operating distributed applications - based on event-driven microservice architectures - that take full advantage of a leading platform
* Hands-on experience with a selection of programming languages, tools and frameworks (e.g. C++, Go, Java, JavaScript, .NET, Node.js, Python, Ruby, Rust) and cloud-centric technology domains such as Serverless, Containers, Big Data, Analytics, Machine Learning, high-performance databases (SQL and NoSQL), complex networking implementations, and highly secured workloads.
* Experience working in a customer-facing role or a role which involved public speaking
* AWS certification (e.g. AWS Certified Developer Associate or DevOps Engineer Professional) or other relevant industry certification
* Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
