Software Development Manager

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. We're looking for a Software Development Manager with an owner mindset, bias for action, and the ability to dive deep and deliver results. You will lead a team of truly innovative engineers, deliver features to customers around the globe, drive our development process, and be a key influencer in the AWS AppSync roadmap.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world leader in providing a highly available, durable, secure infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of businesses around the world! The AppSync team owns and operates AWS AppSync, a fully managed, serverless service for building GraphQL and Pub/Sub APIs that securely connect applications to data and events at scale. Developers use AppSync to bring together data from sources like Amazon DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, and HTTP endpoints behind a single API endpoint, and to deliver real-time updates to connected clients through managed WebSocket subscriptions. These are core architectural components for many customers running on AWS.

- Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance
