Software Development Engineer

- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, OO and core Computer Science concepts
- Experience with building highly-available and scalable distributed systems.
- Understanding of networking protocols and database systems.
- Strong desire to build, sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment.
- MS/Phd Degree in Computer Science

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. With trillions of objects to manage, keeping track of what is in S3 is hard. S3 Index develops software responsible for durability and availability of key-value metadata. We tackle some of the hardest computer science problems. We build systems that can handle wildly varying access patterns and unprecedented load by our customers. S3 Index is looking for a passionate software engineer to build the next generation of S3 Index systems.
