Software Development Engineer, SMGS Data Platform Team

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. We, the AWS Sales, Marketing, & Global Services (SMGS) Data Platform Team, are in the business of helping our customers securely, conveniently, and quickly manage and gain insights into the organization’s Sales and Marketing data at scale. We are looking for a results-oriented, driven Big Data who can design and develop services that enable customers to self-serve data access for analytics and transaction systems on a multi-petabyte data lake. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, relishes working with big data, and enjoys the challenge of overly complex business contexts that are typically being defined in real-time.

Key job responsibilities

As a member of AWS SMGS DP&I team, you will shape the AWS business's direction as a whole. You will build greenfield solutions from the ground up while using native AWS services and frameworks.
- The right candidate will have a robust system delivery background, well-rounded technical knowledge, and demonstrated experience working on large scale projects.
- The candidate must be customer-obsessed, have strong analytical and communication skills, enjoy working with native AWS services, and thrive on solving challenging business problems.
- The candidate should be comfortable working in an agile environment and collaborating with multiple teams.
- You will design and build scalable platforms that enable AWS to sell new products and services with the necessary speed to market.
