Software Development Engineer, Podcasts

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- - Bachelor's degree in computer science related fields
- - Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- - Experience designing and consuming APIs across mobile and web clients
- - Experience with AWS technologies
- - Coding experience with automated testing frameworks, tools and services
- - Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
- - Experience with native application development for iOS (Swift) or Android (Java, Kotlin)
- - Experience with web application development using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Redux.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. As a member of the Amazon Music Podcasts team, you will be responsible for leading the effort to invent and improve the ways that customers can discover, engage with, and listen to podcasts. You will create new scalable systems to fulfill customer requests, algorithms to pick the perfect podcasts, client interfaces on mobile and web that engage listeners, and services to enable customers to seamlessly resume listening on any device.

Our team is responsible for the podcast experience across Amazon Music to include our native iOS and Android applications, web player, and Alexa voice clients. Initiatives include creating intelligent podcast recommenders, designing seamless handoff between Alexa and mobile clients, surfacing content based on a customer’s prior listening, continually improving podcast search, real time transcripts, and other strategic investments to make podcasts on Amazon Music the best place to listen to podcasts.

As a software development engineer on the podcast team, you’ll have the opportunity to:
