Software Development Engineer II, Relay Trust Tech

- 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- 3+ years of programming using a modern programming language such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design experience
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics or natural language processing
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

What will you do?

You'll design and develop critical systems and applications primarily focused on preventing, detecting, and mitigating bad actors in Amazon's transportation network, leveraging latest Machine Learning and Generative AI technologies. You'll architect innovative solutions that combine advanced AI/ML models with traditional security approaches to identify and counter emerging threats. You'll build sophisticated detection systems while regularly interacting with engineering and business leadership.

You will participate in the planning and execution of security-focused technology projects and operational excellence initiatives, incorporating the latest developments in AI/ML for enhanced threat detection. You'll also mentor junior engineers in employing strong design and implementation practices, particularly in building robust security systems powered by machine learning.

To accomplish this, you will be expected to have an established background in building highly scalable systems and applications, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment. You should be somebody who enjoys working on complex system software, is customer-centric, and feels strongly about building good software as well as making that software achieve its operational goals. Experience in building and operating large-scale distributed systems, with a focus on security architecture, ML/AI implementation, and advanced threat detection mechanisms will be very applicable and helpful.
