- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent

The Hosted Execution (HEX) team is looking for a Contract Software Development Engineer to join and deliver strategic goals for Amazon Global Infrastructure Runtime for Developers (GRID) systems. This is a great opportunity to join our mission to manage/build tech solutions that empower our customers. You will be responsible for developing customer migration automation, operations troubleshooting automation, customer engagement and migration support, troubleshooting, system maintenance, and identifying opportunities for automation to improve the developer productivity. If you feel excited by the challenge of setting the course for large company wide initiatives, supporting and managing customer facing products across amazon, this may be the next big career move for you. The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, have good verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks at once, able to work independently and maintain professionalism under pressure. You must be able to identify problems before they happen and implement solutions that detect and prevent outages. You must be able to accurately prioritize projects, make sound judgments, work to improve the customer experience, and get the right things done. And lastly, you must be customer-focused with creative problem-solving skills and have experience supporting technology teams.
