- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Key job responsibilities
. Design and develop innovative software solutions to further enhance the performance, availability, and durability of Amazon Aurora.
2. Collaborate with a team of engineers to push the boundaries of the PostgreSQL engine and storage integration.
3. Write high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code adhering to best practices.
4. Contribute to the design and implementation of new features and functionalities within Aurora.
5. Troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues related to Aurora's functionality.
6. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in database technologies and PostgreSQL developments.
