Description
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $150,700/year up to $251,700/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. As an SDE III on Aurora Availability team, you will design and implement software components and enhance existing components to help us continuously improve and evolve to meet growing availability demands from our customers.

We are looking for experienced Software Development Engineers with a proven track record of designing and implementing highly scalable, fault-tolerant and resilient systems & tooling. You have strong technical skills, are motivated and results-oriented. You are passionate about engineering robust systems, and know how to make the right trade-offs to continue growing quickly to meet our customers' demands. You have a continuous learning and growth mindset and relish investigating and solving hard technical challenges. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and adept at writing technical documents. You are empathetic and curious, and naturally amplify the positive & inclusive team culture we, as a team, work hard to build.

Our team values work-life balance. Most days, our entire team is co-located in the Vancouver offices, but we support occasional work from home if needed.
