The AWS Data Center Systems team seeks a Senior Manager to lead the development and operation of services that collect power and cooling equipment data in Amazon data centers. This includes both directly managing Software Development Engineers and serving as a manager-or-managers for Software Development Managers.

This is an opportunity to build global cloud monitoring applications using device telemetry from industrial control systems. These systems directly contribute to the high availability of AWS data centers, and Amazon’s sustainability goals.

As a Senior Manager in Data Center Systems Software, you will ensure that data center systems are designed with high reliability, security, availability, scalability, and low latency from the outset. You will establish development standards, best practices, and drive operational excellence throughout your team. You will hire and develop the best engineers to accomplish the organization's goals and mission. The relationships you build with peers will help ensure the group is using the right AWS services and methodologies for the company’s scale, while recognizing the unique requirements of the data center systems problem space.

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
