Security Engineer, Threat Research Team, TRT, Networking Services & Edge

- 3+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object oriented language experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
- 2+ years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience
- Experience with AWS products and services
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. The AWS Threat Research Team (TRT) is looking for a security engineer with deep expertise in application and network security who is passionate about research, advocacy, and protecting large-scale, production applications.

In this role, you will serve as an application and network security subject matter expert and work directly with AWS customers across industry verticals to protect applications against external threats. You will leverage your deep expertise and understanding of customer use cases to design and implement security policies that protect customers at-scale or address bespoke requirements. You will conduct both routine and reactive security research to improve customer understanding of threats, exposures, and vulnerabilities through external communication like blogs, whitepapers, and presentations. As the threat environment evolves, you will respond with rapid solutions and communication strategies that mitigate risk to customer applications and earn trust with stakeholders at all levels.
