Robotics Software Engineer, Amazon Robotics (AR)

- 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Expert level knowledge of at least one modern object oriented language such as Java (. preferred ), C++, or C#
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience working on software which controls robots or other hardware like telecom and medical devices

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Amazon Robotics is building a new foundational system which will transform warehouse robotics. The system integrates multiple custom robots into a cohesive and highly efficient solution. The team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to help us build and scale this robotic system across the fulfillment network.

The ideal candidate is passionate about software development and has a track record of designing and implementing new products and features using cloud technologies ( preferably AWS) and software deployed at the edge. They have seen their solutions deployed at scale in live environments. They are a hands-on expert, with a deep and broad understanding of software tools and complex algorithm development.


Key job responsibilities
This is a brand new system which is a critical priority for the Robotics organization. As a key member, you will:

* Work across teams to design and develop metrics and data infrastructure connecting our robotic systems to the cloud
* Develop and test software changes on robotic equipment in the lab
* Develop queries, data visualizations, and tooling for accessing data generated by our robotic systems
* Work closely with internal stakeholders to define feature requirements and see the impact of your products in the field
