Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Japan is seeking a Program Manager to own quality assurance and operational expansion of our Merchant Fulfilled Network (MFN) pickup program. This is a highly operational role — you will be closely embedded in day-to-day MFN pickup operations across Delivery Stations and seller sites, developing a thorough, hands-on understanding of how the seller-to-FC package flow functions end-to-end.
In this role, you will track program quality from seller injection through DS handling and middle-mile transit, identify failure modes, and build the operational improvements needed to meet expansion readiness standards. You will work closely with the Program Lead to ensure quality gates are cleared at each expansion phase, and collaborate with local ACES teams and DS operations to deploy standard work on the ground.
As part of the Last Mile Tech (LMT) organization, this role serves as the connection between Japan's day-to-day MFN operations and global technology and product organizations, ensuring solutions are properly scoped, implemented, and optimized for the Japan market.
At Amazon, you'll work alongside the latest AI and GenAI tools that are increasingly woven into how teams operate: from AI-powered capabilities that accelerate decision-making, to Generative AI that helps you focus on work that truly matters. You'll have opportunities and resources to develop AI fluency at your own pace, with continuous learning built into the culture.
Key job responsibilities
- Conduct operational analysis across the full MFN pickup flow — from seller package handoff through DS injection, middle-mile transit, and deliver to customer to identify quality gaps, failure patterns, and process inefficiencies across the AMZL Japan network.
- Develop improvement plans based on field observations and data insights, and work with the Program Lead to validate that quality standards are met before each phase of DS network expansion.
- Partner with ACES teams and DS operations to deploy standard work, training materials, and operational procedures on the ground, ensuring consistent execution as the program scales to new sites.
- Own seller-facing quality tracking — monitoring injection compliance rates, SLAM label accuracy, and pickup window adherence — and develop corrective action plans for sellers or sites falling below quality thresholds.
- Analyze operational datasets to monitor key performance indicators including pickup success rate, injection cutoff compliance, and transit time by DS node, conducting root cause analysis on failures and escalating risks and opportunities to the Program Lead.
- Support end-to-end program execution for MFN pickup expansion milestones, including site readiness checklists, quality gates, and contingency plans to ensure each new DS node launches reliably.
- Coordinate with Delivery Stations, Sort Centers, Fulfillment Centers, and global product teams to align on operational requirements and represent Japan-specific needs in worldwide forums.
