The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support the development of Prime Air Drone electrical propulsion subsystem hardware & related test systems. In this role you will be working to mature and document designs, add and increase engineering rigor, help deploy new test systems and work with internal and external groups to support its fabrication. You will also be responsible for developing new test hardware and supporting ongoing development efforts.

Key job responsibilities
Mechanical design and layout trades contributing to overall system architecture configuration selection, requiring knowledge and experience in understanding, collaborating and trading complex inputs from multiple other disciplines – Electrical, RF, Thermal, Dynamics, Mechanisms, Materials, Manufacturing, Assembly, and Test.
Generate detailed designs with 3D CAD assemblies/components and 2D drawings as deliverables.
Conduct static, dynamic, and modal structural analysis as needed to support design work.
Deliver efficient designs capable of high volume production throughput (DFM, DFA).
Documentation and presentation of materials for technical design reviews.
Design and support test campaigns, both development and qualification/acceptance, for drone hardware.
