Data Scientist, JP Seller Services

- Master's degree or above in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science
- 2+ years of data scientist experience
- 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance experience
- Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment
- Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language
- Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company
- Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese

We are seeking an exceptional Data Scientist to join our JP Seller Services team. Our mission is to help every Seller grow and succeed on Amazon Marketplace through innovative products, technology, and data-driven solutions. This role presents a unique opportunity to drive real business impact at scale. As a central member of the JP Seller Services, you will collaborate closely with other stakeholders to drive data-informed decisions through advanced analytics and ML modeling. You'll develop sophisticated ML models for recommendation systems and business optimization, while designing and executing experiments to validate your solutions. Your work will directly influence strategic decision-making and create scalable solutions that enhance our Sellers' success on Amazon.

Key job responsibilities
(1) Develop and scale end-to-end ML models to solve critical seller challenges
(2) Lead data-driven and scientific analyses that directly inform strategic organizational decisions
(3) Build and validate hypotheses through rigorous statistical analysis
(4) Design and execute experiments and leverage causal inference methods to measure true business impact in seller growth dynamics and behavior patterns
(5) Partner with stakeholders to translate analytical insights into actionable recommendations
