We are seeking a Data Engineer II to join the Japan Consumer Innovation Measurement and Optimization Science Team (JCI MOST), which builds the data infrastructure powering Japan's Cost-to-Serve (CtS) program. You will own the end-to-end data pipelines that enable cost visibility, automated business reviews, and AI-driven insights for supply chain optimization across Amazon Japan.

This role has two primary workstreams:
(1) automating executive business reviews (xBR) — replacing manual reporting with scalable, self-refreshing data products that serve leadership at cadence; and (2) building the inbound cost data pipeline — creating ASIN-level inbound cost visibility that does not exist today.

You will work alongside applied scientists, economists, and product managers, building the data foundation that powers COSTA AI (our GenAI-driven cost intelligence agent), causal science models, and financial simulation tools used by VP-level leadership across Amazon Japan.

Key job responsibilities
-Build automated pipelines powering CtS business reviews — eliminating manual data pulls
-Design and build the inbound cost data pipeline (vendor/ASIN/lane level visibility)
-Build data infrastructure supporting GenAI agents and causal science models
-Manage AWS resources (Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR) and deploy infrastructure-as-code
