Description
- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent

Key job responsibilities
-Carrying out Data Analysis and acting as the subject matter expert on Operational and business improvement opportunities; validating data to ensure accuracy in the output; identifying key data for projects across a variety of data stores and efficiently extracting and processing it; generating descriptive statistics and extracting insights.
- Expertise in carrying out statistical tests, logistic Regression modelling & python
-Design and execute analytical projects in collaboration with Operations, Program Managers, Business Intelligence & Finance teams. Participate in strategic and tactical planning discussions.
-Analyze and extract relevant information from large amounts of both structured and unstructured data to help automate and optimize key processes
-Analyze and validate data to ensure high data quality and reliable insights. Partner with Business Intelligence & Data engineering teams to improve data assets, quality, metrics and insights.
-Proactively identify opportunity areas for deep dive investigations and future program development. Define the business problem and solution approach autonomously with limited guidance
-Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format
-Exposure to analytical modelling and developing quantitative analytical solutions

A day in the life
As an experienced Data Analytics Engineer, you will play a key role as an internal consultant developing analyses related to the AWS Support businesses. You will need to interface with a diverse set of stakeholders and will work closely with Business Intelligence teams, Program managers, Business teams, Data engineering, Financial analysts, Operations Managers, Data Scientists and Product teams to analyze massive data sets, identify areas to improve, define metrics to measure and monitor programs, and most importantly work with different stakeholders to drive improvements over time. To be successful, you should demonstrate the ability to balance analytical and technical skills while clearly driving communication and collaboration with key partners. You will also work closely with internal leadership teams to extract or mine information from our existing systems to create new analysis, and expose data from our group to wider teams in intuitive ways. As a member of the team, you will also have the opportunity to leverage your passion for data science to create high impact solutions.
