Business Intelligence Engineer, Global Programming & Insights Tech

- 2+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared)
- Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)
- Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree
- Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design
- Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $74,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $165,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Prime Video is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to drive customer insights for the Global Programming and Insights BI team. As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will generate insights that guide content programming, selection optimization, and product development for our customers.

You will be tasked with building a more granular and complete understanding of who our customers are and how they engage with content across the Prime Video Marketplace. Data analysis is at the core Amazon’s culture, and your work will have a direct impact on decision making and strategy for our team and helping senior leaders make key business decisions. You will have the opportunity to work with one of the largest and most complex data warehouses in the world to gather insights using data from both 1st party data and research data.

A successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and large datasets. They will have strong attention to detail and an ability to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. They will have strong SQL skills, experience building visual dashboards, and the ability to clearly communicate information to business stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities
Strong interest and ability to take complex datasets and boil them down to actionable data visualizations.
Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing performance insights metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
Build scalable, efficient, and automated data processes to inform business decision making.
Proactively develop new metrics and studies to quantify customer behavior and reduce customer churn in programming.
Analyze and improve dashboards, operational business metrics decks, and key performance indicators.
