Description
Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, or closely related field
3+ years of experience working with IBM Cognos TM1 (Planning Analytics) solutions developing end-to-end analytics solutions, including system configuration, model building, data security, and reporting
Demonstrated experience working with users in a support and development capacity
Quick learner with a positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Demonstrated experience working with users in a support and development capacity Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
Experience with dimension management software processes, Apliqo UX, Arc, Command Center, MDM tools
Reporting experience, and familiarity with software development methodologies, Git version control, unit test and integration tests
Experience with design & delivery of formal training curriculum and programs
Scripting skills, e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash, Ruby, Perl, etc.
Familiarity with AWS solutions such as S3, Redshift, CloudFormation, Code Commit, Code Deploy and IAM Roles
Knowledge of SQL authoring, RDBMS database interaction, data warehousing concepts, or third-party ETL tools
Successful experience working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment

Amazon Devices and Services Fintech is the global team that designs and builds the financial planning and analysis tools for wide variety of Amazon’s new and established organizations. From Kindle to Ring and even new and exciting companies like Kuiper (our new interstellar satellite play) this team enjoys a wide variety of complex and interesting problem spaces. They are almost like FinTech consultants embedded in Amazon.

This team are looking for an Application Engineer to build and enhance the businesses finance systems with TM1 at its core. You will manage all aspects from requirements gathering, technical design, development, deployment, and integration to solve budgeting, planning, performance management and reporting challenges

Key job responsibilities
Developing end to end solutions with Planning Analytics, work with developers to research, document and resolve system issues
Interact with business customers to understand and document their business processes and requirements
Identify process improvement opportunities to drive innovation, and develop solutions that accelerate timelines and automate manual processes.
Administer user permissions and system security settings.
Assist with training delivery and detailed process documentation
Able to code with any python or any such programming language to calculate and present data.
Work on system support activity according to priority (including rotational on-call availability for critical systems support), and coordinate mid-scale change requests with development teams
