Summary overview of responsibilities
We are looking for a manager to guide the development team and oversee the day-to-day operations of the platform. You’ll be technically hands-on and ensure all aspects of product development — including architecture review, solution design, and mentoring engineering managers and technical leads — are carried out effectively. You’ll be accountable for engineering delivery and ensuring high availability of the product in production. You’ll also evaluate current development practices, identify areas for improvement, and implement initiatives to enhance team productivity.
As the manager, you’ll be responsible for engineering solution design, defining and improving agile processes, enhancing engineering output, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll also support budgeting, planning, project execution (in collaboration with the project manager), and development of technical talent.
Your main responsibilities
Collaborate with customers and architects to define product specifications and solution design, and evolve the product using agile practices. You’ll be accountable for high-quality, timely delivery of product enhancements in an engaging and evolving environment.
Oversee maintenance of key platform components and ensure high availability in production.
Partner with operations and customer service teams to identify operational challenges, incorporate feedback into the product, and guide engineers in preventive and reactive maintenance.
Evaluate the current solution stack, identify architecture improvement opportunities, prepare proposals and prototypes, and guide the team in building non-functional requirements (NFRs) for increased stability and automation.
Provide technical and domain expertise to the team and support collaborative problem-solving.
About the ideal candidate
12–15 years of experience in distributed product development environments, with hands-on expertise in building enterprise platforms.
Experience across the full product lifecycle, including production support and collaboration with product management and pre-sales teams.
Proven experience as a developer, architect, and team lead on complex technology projects.
Confident communicator with strong presentation and negotiation skills; able to facilitate agreement and resolve conflicts in cross-functional teams.
Experience working in agile teams; familiarity with Scrum and PMI-ACP (Project Management Institute–Agile Certified Practitioner) certification is beneficial. Knowledge of the travel domain is a plus.
Skills / Competencies
Good technical experience in architecting and leading teams building enterprise products, with end-to-end delivery across multiple releases.
Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems design principles. Experience with open-source technologies is beneficial.
Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management experience.
Demonstrates resilience and adaptability in the face of change and complexity; continuously updates technical and leadership skills.
Builds collaborative teams, develops talent, and fosters an inclusive environment where team members are accountable and supported.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering from a recognized institute.
