About Amadeus Media (Hospitality)

As part of Amadeus Hospitality, the Media division focuses on driving demand and increasing client market share through data‑driven travel advertising across multiple channels, including web search, display, social media, Global Distribution Systems (GDS), and mobile platforms. Our customers include hotels seeking to attract more guests, destinations aiming to increase visitor numbers, and airlines working to reach more travellers worldwide. Over the years, Amadeus has built a leading travel advertising platform powered by first‑party travel data and strategic partnerships with major advertising partners such as Google, Meta (Facebook), and Microsoft. This platform enables us to reach billions of travellers globally every day and continues to grow rapidly thanks to our engaged, international teams. Unlike traditional media agencies that rely solely on third‑party tools, Amadeus has developed its own advertising platform to support unique travel use cases and more precise targeting. Built on a modern microservices architecture (Golang, Scala, Python, GraphQL), the platform processes up to 300k transactions per second, leverages a petabyte‑scale Google BigQuery data warehouse, and runs advanced AI models generating up to 500k predictions per second. It is hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) across four global regions.

Summary of the role

The Infrastructure and DevOps team is a core enabling team within Media R&D. It is responsible for infrastructure foundations, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), security and ethical hacking (“White Hat”) activities, and operational governance that ensure Media platforms remain reliable, secure, and compliant at scale. As Associate Manager, you will lead and grow an international team covering infrastructure engineering, DevOps, SRE, and security coordination, working closely with development, data, security (CISO), and quality teams.

What you’ll do

• Lead and develop the team: Manage, coach, and support engineers across Infrastructure, DevOps, and SRE; foster a culture of reliability, security, and continuous improvement.

• Own reliability and SRE practices: Define and manage Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), error budgets, incident management, post‑incident reviews, and operational readiness.

• Drive infrastructure & DevOps evolution: Own cloud and platform infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and infrastructure‑as‑code practices in collaboration with delivery teams.

• Coordinate security & compliance: Lead security hardening, vulnerability management, and act as the technical coordination point for platform security and technical audits.

• Enable cross‑team collaboration: Partner with product, data, foundations, architecture, quality, and security stakeholders; contribute to multi‑year infrastructure, reliability, and security roadmaps.

You are the ideal candidate if you have…

• Experience leading or mentoring engineers (team lead, technical lead, or engineering manager level).

• A strong background in Infrastructure, DevOps, and/or Site Reliability Engineering, operating production systems at scale.

• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform), containers and orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, Helm), CI/CD, GitOps, and observability.

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders with diverse perspectives.

• A strong sense of responsibility for reliability, security, and operational quality.

Nice to have

• Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform and managed cloud services.

• Exposure to security engineering, vulnerability management, or ethical hacking activities.

• Experience with technical audits, compliance, or regulated environments.

• Background in improving developer experience through platform tooling and automation.

• Previous experience as a software engineer or technical leader.
