Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer, you will design, develop, integrate, and validate the electrical systems that power and control Amadeus touchpoints, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation across diverse conditions. This role acts as the electrical backbone of the product, connecting mechanical design, software/firmware, compliance, and manufacturing.

Common Accountabilities

• Apply solid technical/functional knowledge in electrical engineering and understand how the Amadeus business context relates to your area.

• Collaborate with mechanical, software, compliance, product, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful end‑to‑end delivery.

• Contribute to Agile/SAFe planning when applicable.

• Ensure high‑quality documentation (schematics, BOMs, test plans, reports) and maintain strong traceability.

Specific Accountabilities

Electrical Design & System Development

• Design and develop circuits and systems: power distribution, control boards, sensors, lighting, display interfaces, and communication interfaces.

• Select and qualify electrical components (power supplies, connectors, fuses, relays, sensors).

• Ensure integration of third‑party hardware (card readers, printers, passport readers, touchscreens).

• Perform system analysis to evaluate trade‑offs and ensure optimal performance across platforms.

• Lead or support the design and integration of electronic and mechanical components within electro‑mechanical systems.

Power Systems & Safety

• Define AC/DC conversion, grounding, UPS, battery backup, EMI/EMC control strategies.

• Ensure compliance with UL, CE, FCC, IEC, and similar safety/regulatory frameworks.

• Implement protections for overcurrent, short‑circuit, and ESD.

• Work with mechanical teams on cooling, thermal management, and power‑efficiency improvements.

Product & Solution Integration

• Identify integration requirements and the actions necessary to connect Amadeus products/services.

• Define and manage integration schedules and dependencies.

• Determine, document, and validate adaptations to Amadeus products or components.

• Write or review functional specifications to ensure they accurately reflect customer needs.

• Guarantee that integrated or customised solutions meet expected performance and compliance standards.

• Build systems on‑site when required and support end‑to‑end solution integration for customers.

Prototyping, Testing & Validation

• Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts and system behaviour.

• Conduct electrical verification/validation and troubleshoot issues at both component and system levels.

• Manage resolution of system compatibility, communication, or performance issues.

Documentation, Compliance & Certification

• Produce and maintain all relevant engineering documentation (schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, test protocols, change records).

Manufacturing & Implementation Support

• Ensure design‑for‑manufacturability and collaborate with production teams during pilot and mass‑production phases.

• Support project activities throughout implementation, addressing technical issues and driving continuous improvement.
