Alteryx is looking for a motivated and seasoned Senior Engineering Manager with a strong background in Machine Learning (ML), GenAI, and cloud-based technologies. As part of the AI/ML Products group, you will lead a high-performing team to build scalable, distributed systems that form the execution layer of Alteryx’s analytics cloud. Responsibilities:

•  Lead the design, development, and deployment of Gen AI/ML solutions within the Advanced Analytics Org.  
• Drive the technical strategy and roadmap, aligning with product and business objectives.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, and cross-functional engineering teams to define and deliver scalable AI/ML features.
• Manage, mentor, and grow a team of 15-18 engineers, fostering technical excellence, innovation, and career development.
• Architect and implement distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures to support Gen AI/ML solutions.
• Own the delivery of Gen AI/ML models and systems using LLMs, RAG, LangChain, LangGraph, and knowledge graphs.
• Drive the adoption of MLOps practices, ensuring reliable model deployment, monitoring, and retraining pipelines.
• Actively contribute to system design, architecture reviews, and code reviews.
• Leverage cloud services (primarily AWS) and infrastructure-as-code to enable scalable, resilient Gen AI/ML platforms.
• Represent the team in engineering leadership forums, release planning, and executive briefings.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance engineering culture, balancing innovation with timely delivery.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and drive the adoption of emerging technologies and techniques in GenAI, NLP, and AI/ML.
• Ensure delivery quality by promoting best practices in TDD, CI/CD, DevOps, and scalable infrastructure design.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise information for senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.   

Requirements:

•  Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, Gen AI/ML, or a related technical domain.
• 6+ years of experience leading engineering teams, mentoring engineers, and driving AI/ML innovation.
• Expertise in distributed systems, microservices, event-driven services, and orchestration frameworks.
• Strong programming skills in Python with deep experience in ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX.
• Solid understanding of data-centric AI techniques, knowledge graphs, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Strong grasp of OOP, design patterns, and test-driven development (TDD)methodologies.
• Proficiency in working with SQL databases (Oracle, Snowflake), NoSQL, Graph, and Vector databases.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services (CloudFormation, EC2, EKS, SageMaker) and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Proven track record delivering ML-driven solutions using LLMs, LangChain, LangGraph, and GenAI technologies.
• Expertise in NLP techniques, model experimentation, and fine-tuning large language models for production use.
• Strong experience with MLOps practices, Kubernetes, and parallel computing techniques.
• Experience balancing exploration vs. exploitation when introducing new technologies while ensuring production reliability.
• Exceptional communication skills to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to work with and influence senior leadership and stakeholders across departments.
• Passion for leading and mentoring engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
