Systems Engineer

OVERVIEW

The Systems Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's public cloud infrastructure and on-premises systems. This role ensures the stability, security, and optimal performance of IT infrastructure. The Systems Engineer will handle system administration, infrastructure management, assist with security protocols, storage solutions, backup and recovery processes, capacity and resource planning. Effective documentation, collaboration, and communication are critical for success in this role. This is hybrid role based out of Los Angeles, CA. 

RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux server environments.  
• Manage virtualized infrastructure across Azure, Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI), and VMware platforms.  
• Support Azure cloud services, including Azure Arc and Azure Virtual Desktop environments.  
• Manage enterprise storage solutions, including NAS, SAN, local disks, and Azure Files.  
• Administer and monitor backup and recovery solutions to ensure system availability and data protection.  
• Support Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID, Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Zoom.  
• Manage user access, identity, permissions, and collaboration tools in alignment with security and operational standards.  
• Assist with foundational network services and troubleshooting, including DHCP.  
• Manage digital certificates and support certificate lifecycle requirements.  
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell; support infrastructure-as-code initiatives using Terraform or Bicep.  
• Coordinate and execute patch management activities across infrastructure platforms.  
• Create and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and support guides.  
• Partner with Technology teams and vendors to resolve infrastructure issues, improve reliability, and support ongoing projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

• • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure administration or a similar role. 
  • Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). 
  • Strong knowledge of modern hybrid infrastructure technologies (Azure Stack HCI, Azure Local) 
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as code (IaC) 
  • Solid understanding of system administration, including Linux and Windows servers. 
  • Familiarity with storage management solutions and best practices. (NAS, SAN) 
  • Experience in backup and recovery planning and execution. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Basic Understanding of Networking Principles to assist with Incident Troubleshooting. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

The base salary range for this position is $100,000-$130,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees.
