R&D Mechanical Development Intern

We are looking for a motivated engineering student to join our R&D team as part of our mechanical development group. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on real mechanical design and development projects for medical devices, under the guidance of senior engineers, while continuing your studies.

Requirements

  • Currently in year 2–3 of a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical design principles (statics, dynamics, materials, tolerances)
  • Proficiency with a CAD software (SolidWorks or similar)
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, injection molding, 3D printing)
  • Ability to read and create technical/engineering drawings
  • Basic understanding of material properties and selection
  • Ability to work 2–3 days a week (flexible around class schedule)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills, ability to work in a team


Requirements

  • Assist in design, modeling, and detailing of mechanical parts and assemblies for medical devices, including energy-based systems (laser, RF, ultrasound sources)
  • Support senior engineers in building and testing prototypes, including thermal and mechanical integration of energy sources
  • Perform basic mechanical measurements and tolerance checks and write test reports
  • Help prepare technical drawings and documentation, including design history file support
  • Assist with assembly, fit checks, and troubleshooting of mechanical builds
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas
