About the team

Alloy operates in a hybrid-work environment. We look to foster collaboration and community by having our local employees onsite twice a week, and remote employees onsite once a quarter.

We are looking for a curious and experienced frontend-leaning full stack engineer to join our Scale - Platform team. We believe that engineers shouldn’t need to choose between being productive and delivering business impact.

The Platform team is the backbone of our organization, driving the expansion and optimization of our platform to accommodate our growing user base. In the Platform function, your role will drive the expansion of our new offerings such as embedded finance, vendor marketplace platform, and bolster our platform reliability and security practices. Your frontend expertise in this role will complement the team and ensure seamless integration of these new features, enhancing the overall user experience of the platform. You will have the opportunity to own and contribute to critical platform initiatives that will be instrumental in driving meaningful impact and adoption of our product in the market.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to translate our product and technical vision into a concrete roadmap, guiding the team towards success.
  • Architect, develop, test, and deploy significant customer-facing features and projects using cutting-edge tools and technologies. We expect this role to focus mainly on front-end development, with the ability to serve on the API side when working across the stack. Our tech stack includes React, Node.js/TypeScript, Python (Django), PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and AWS.
  • Craft high-quality, thoroughly-tested code that meets the unique requirements of our clients, ensuring robustness and reliability.
  • Work closely with other engineers, and product & design stakeholders both providing and receiving technical and product guidance, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
  • Embrace an iterative approach, swiftly iterating on features and solutions based on valuable feedback from both our clients and internal GTM stakeholders, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with user needs.

In summary, you will play a pivotal role in driving our product development efforts forward, leveraging your technical expertise and leadership skills to deliver impactful solutions and foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a frontend-leaning full stack engineer to join our Platform team. In this role, you’ll have the agency to improve the user experience across our product lines for our customers, with the intersection of engineering, user experience, and design:

  • You’re a strong frontend-focused full stack engineer who likes working across a breadth of products, component libraries, and technologies.
  • You enjoy being a frontend expert and a specialist in delivering world-class user experiences and are not tied down to a specific programming language or function of our code repo.
  • You appreciate and value clear, frequent, and quality communication.
  • You’re experienced in architecting, developing, and shipping complex, high-quality frontend components that have a direct impact on the engineering experience.
  • You will drive the foundation and standards for frontend engineering solutions across Alloy products and infrastructure.
  • You’re an autonomous and supportive engineer for teammates who are faced with new challenges.
  • You love solving important challenges in the fintech & financial services industry.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in developing enterprise-grade software.
  • Understanding of front-end architectures and experience in migrating applications to newer technology stacks.
  • Proficiency in React, Django/Python framework, PostgreSQL/Elasticsearch, AWS, and Docker.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively on product and engineering teams, with strong adaptability to meet the needs of a rapidly-evolving product and growth-oriented environment.
  • Attention to detail in frontend design and cross-functional collaboration with design and product teams.
  • Appreciate and improve good internal documentation and feature guides.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in Fintech or financial services.
  • Previous experience in building component library frameworks.
  • Bonus points if you are familiar with Figma, Storybook, Playwright and other real-user monitoring tools.
