Job Description

Your role

You'll be part of our Information Technology team, based in Sydney. The IT team plays a critical role in how we work at Allens, delivering secure, reliable and future-focused technology solutions that support our people, clients and business. Within the Infrastructure team, you'll work alongside experienced technology professionals who are committed to continuous improvement, innovation and operational excellence.

As an entry-level Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Support the day-to-day operation of the firm's infrastructure and business systems.

  • Assist with the deployment and management of cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and Terraform.

  • Work closely with senior cloud engineers to deliver Azure platform capabilities, landing zones and automation solutions.

  • Assist in the implementation of cloud governance, security and compliance controls.

  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure-related issues.

  • Contribute to technology improvement initiatives and operational projects.

  • Assist in documenting technical processes and maintaining operational procedures.

  • Work closely with other IT teams to support business requirements and deliver positive outcomes.

  • Participate in planned out-of-hours maintenance and support activities when required.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity.

About you

You are a technically capable infrastructure professional who is motivated by solving complex problems, delivering high-quality outcomes and continuously developing your skills. You thrive in a collaborative, high-performing environment where curiosity, ownership and innovation are valued.

You will have:

  • Hands-on experience supporting and administering Microsoft Azure in a professional or enterprise environment.

  • Skills and experience across a broad range of areas, including one or more of the following:

    • Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365

    • Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

    • PowerShell scripting and automation

    • Azure networking, identity and security services

    • Windows Server and Active Directory

    • Networking & security fundamentals

  • The ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving cloud technologies.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to investigate and resolve technical issues.

  • A collaborative and team-oriented approach.

  • The ability to remain organised and prioritise tasks effectively.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • An eagerness to learn new technologies and continue developing your technical capabilities.

  • A positive attitude and a genuine interest in developing a long-term career in infrastructure and cloud engineering.
