Position Title:        Team Lead – Software Test -AAT

Location: Bangalore, India

Business Unit: Allegion India Pvt. Ltd

Job Role: Team Lead/staff Engineer

As a Team Lead in Test, you will provide overall technical leadership for at least 2 programs.  Support for customer interface, recruiting, test-tool introduction, test strategy, test planning, staff supervision, cost and progress status reporting.  You will directly be responsible for the overall quality of the team’s work and product quality.  You will stay current on latest test approaches and tools, and transferring this knowledge to test team.  You will set the strategy for implementing test-process improvements.  You will strategize for new testing methodologies & processes in alignment with business Initiatives. You will also be responsible for developing and getting the team execute comprehensive test automation code and test cases for new and existing features of Allegion products.

You will work closely with firmware lead engineer, development lead , product owner and system test lead engineers  to deliver the highest quality products in a timely and cost efficient manner.

Job Description:

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Provides leadership to direct employees or manages a functional area.
• Experience in people leadership, performance management, mentoring employees & creating development plans, influencing teams, minimum exp of 2-3 yrs. in handling direct 5-member team is a must.
• Specific duties and responsibilities include creating, maintaining, and executing test plans and test cases against our hardware and software platforms, estimating test efforts, analyzing and communicating test results, defect tracking and participating in day-to-day QA Activities. 
• Ensures that engineering processes, quality standards, methods, and procedures are defined, documented, and updated as needed.
• Responsible for the translation of business requirements to designs and solutions.
•  Effective in written, verbal and presentations skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and concepts enabling teams to be successful.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate, negotiate and work with cross functional teams. Flexibility to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Willingness to make decisions, ability to assess risk and act with a sense of urgency enabling teams to deliver on time. 
• Ability to think on your feet, assess problems, and lead others to find well-thought-out solutions.
• Responsible for managing and completing large complete system projects having strategic platform impact.
• Provide leadership for cross-functional teams.
• First point of contact within engineering with external customer.  Resolves external customer issues at advanced engineering level.  Lead customer presentations.
• Self-directed.  Able to identify and complete own projects. Skilled at customer presentations and communicating and influencing internal customers.  Documentation is professional and frequent with virtually all technical work formally captured.
• You will also add to our company's performance and scalability testing efforts including writing of specialized testing tools for use in testing our mobile apps, web apps, and web services.
• Have Automation experience in Software test tools like Selenium, Appium/ Mobile Application Automation Testing, API Testing and automation, Web Application Automation Testing with at least 3 independent projects executed using the mentioned tool.
• Expertise in development of test automation for API and Web app or Mobile app.
• Must have framework development experience like spec flow, Selenium and Appium.
• Have expert knowledge in testing concepts, test process, test design skills and testing techniques.
• Have exposure to Azure DevOps tool or other test management tool for maintaining test cases, updating the test results, and sending the test updates to leads/Manager on timely basis.
• Excellent networking knowledge is a must.
• Work closely with product teams and product management to understand requirements and translate them in to test cases which covers all possible test conditions.
• Collaborating with USA teams to resolve product escalation.
• Must demonstrate flexibility in work hours to meet important customer deliverables and project deadlines as required.
• Hands on programming skills in C# or Java is a must.
• Good knowledge in Linux, Windows, Android and IOS
• Well-versed in mobile app testing skills for both IOS and Android platforms
• Good hands-on experience in backend and front-end testing.
• Good knowledge of SQL DB or KSQL. Have expertise in writing DB queries.
• Work closely with product teams and product management to understand requirements and translate them in to test cases which capture all possible test conditions.
• Onsite experience in testing at customer or partner sites would be beneficial.
• Must demonstrate flexibility in work hours to meet important customer deliverables and project deadlines as required.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects to meet schedules in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
• Work closely with product teams and product management to understand requirements and translate them in to test cases which capture all possible test conditions.
• Engage in cross team collaboration to enhance the test efficiency across the groups. Interfacing with overseas counterparts frequently to resolve issues. 
• Worked in Agile environment.

Desired Skills & Abilities:

• Has exposure in performing security testing.
• Exposure to IOT domain projects would be added advantage.
• Experience with integrated test environments would be added advantage
• Good system level debugging skills are an advantage.
• Willing to travel across geographical boundaries based on the business need.

Required Education and Experience:

• An engineering bachelor’s degree or master’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience
