Senior Application Developer, RPG-AS400 iSeries

What You Will Do:

• Works with business stakeholders to define requirements.
• Creates technical specifications from functional requirements.
• Develops prototypes and programs.
• Defines and executes unit and integration test scripts.
• Follows coding standards and best practices.
• Run knowledge transfer sessions with support teams.
• Maintains clear communications on statuses, outcomes with stakeholders and managers.
• Enhances and maintains existing business applications.
• Independently install, customize, and integrate commercial software packages.
• Work with experienced team members to conduct project planning, root cause analysis,
• Review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing.
• Identify ideas to improve system performance and ensure high system availability.

What You Need to Succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science required
• 5+ year experience in software development in RPG IV, DB2/400, Visual-RPG
• Experience with working on an AS400 iSeries ERP platform.
• Knowledge of web technologies, such as HTML, CSS and Javascript desirable.
• Experienced in the IBM iSeries environment
• Moderate knowledge of manufacturing processes and ERP’s overall functionality.
• Software Development Lifecycle management methodology (SureStep, AIM);
• Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively
• Demonstrated understanding of projects from the perspective of both client and business
• Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary
• Basic project management skills.
• Minimal travel requirements
• Experience in Macpac or Frontier ERP a plus!
