Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

Allegion is looking for a passionate Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to work as part of a highly engaged small team within a global organization of 12,000+ employees, representing 30+ brands (including Schlage, Von Duprin and LCN) focused on safety, security and access management.  You’ll work on solutions that will enable seamless access and help keep you and your loved ones safe and secure where they work, live and thrive.  

What You Will Do:

• Craft and design a range of automated testing platforms and frameworks that will ultimately reduce defects, improve quality, and enable delivery of high-quality software faster 
• Build numerous functional automated tests scripts for our Web application
• Develop automated test scripts to test our APIs functionality, performance, security and scalability 
• Improve the standards of automation scripts, implementing automated test pipelines 
• Work on defining strategies for automated functional testing as part of Sprints 
• Resolve technical issues faced by the QA team 
• Analyze requirements and develop appropriate testing approaches 

What You Need to Succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, or Engineering related discipline, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.  
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software automated testing.  
• Have a solid understanding of software testing techniques and best practices.
• Manual Testing Skills: 
  • Proficiency in writing and executing detailed test cases and test plans. 
• Automation Testing: 
  • Ability to write and maintain automated test scripts using programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript. 
  • Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkin or GitLab CI. 
  • Experience with Cypress is a nice to have.
• API Testing: 
  • Proficiency in using tools like Postman or Charles Proxy for testing APIs. 
  • Understanding of RESTful services and ability to validate API responses. 
• Version Control and Collaboration: 
  • Experience with version control systems like Git. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively using tools like Jira, Confluence, GitLab or Trello. 
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): 
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and practices for automated build and deployment processes. 
• Have experience with TestRail, or Azure DevOps tool or other test management tools for maintaining test cases, updating the test results and sending the test updates to leads/Manager on timely basis.  
• Ability to read and understand server/application logs.
• Are passionate about testing software and are constantly striving to make software testing more consistent, efficient and reliable.

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.  

• The expected Base Salary Range: 99,000 - $174,900. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law. 

• Bonus Eligible: Yes
