The Commercial Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) Manager will support and inform HEOR evidence generation projects and executing dissemination activities for pipeline and marketed Alcon surgical products and services. This individual will contribute to market access scientific strategies and value propositions in assigned areas of responsibility, and work in close collaboration with the respective cross-functional regional and local teams to ensure optimal market access for our products.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Support the execution of HEOR strategies and tactics that demonstrate the value proposition of the Alcon products and services in international markets.
Strong collaboration with Global Market Access (especially HEOR), International Marketing and Local Market Access functions.
Facilitate integration of Commercial HEOR into Alcon business planning (ABP). Ensure timely availability of HEOR key deliverables to support commercial launches, and reimbursement in local international markets (50% focus in Europe but also support Japan, China, Korea, India, and Australia).
Understand and translate country needs into HEOR deliverables. Develop value demonstration and communication tools that prove the product and service values to providers/purchasers/C-Suite, including simple value calculators for the sales teams.
Supports local teams in adaptations of global HEOR tools through resources and training.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners and international local market access teams to provide evidence support (e.g., reimbursement or tender purposes) and ensure the deployment and training of ABP deliverables.
Support the development of innovative and complex economic modelling activities that maximize the economic value of brands for payers and HTA authorities.
Identify evidence gaps not covered by the existing/coming HEOR assets. Communicate them to inform the Evidence Generation Strategy.
In collaboration with Global HEOR, support local evidence generation (e.g., claims, resources) and evidence synthesis projects to demonstrate value proposition to external stakeholders and maximize brand value.
Engage in major international congresses and KOL engagements to ensure strategic input, understand evidence needs, and drive scientific communication of value messages.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Minimum: 5 years of directly related experience.
Advanced degree in health economics and outcomes research, epidemiology, health services research, or biostatistics.
Experience: sales/marketing for medical device industry, or HEOR consultancy.
Capable of developing relatively simple economic models on MS Excel
