As a Senior Engineer UNIX Server Platform supporting the UNIX Infrastructure Team in Mexico City, Mexico, you will be trusted to lead critical projects and provide expert guidance in managing and upgrading our UNIX server environments.

In this role, a typical day will include

• Providing Level 1-3 support and training lower-level engineersadministrators, including creating Knowledge Articles and Platform technical documentation.
• Offering technical expertise in planning and defining upgrade requirements; conducting feasibility and performance studies, including benchmarking, capacity planning, and sizing of server architecture.
• Leading or assisting in the implementation and design of new upgrades to UNIX Infrastructure and servers.
• Ensuring the delivery of IT services, systems, and applications to the business with adherence to quality standards.
• Coordinating responses to audit findings and ISRM assessments, ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.
• Managing the provisioning process to facilitate automation and maintain an up-to-date inventory of all technology assets.
• Collaborating with UNIX service customers to define new system requirements, offering recommendations based on experience, company policies, and best practices.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON

• A minimum of 5+ years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including
• Proficiency in installing and administering RHEL Satellite, performing tasks such as server registration, patching, CVE vulnerability search, and utilizing Kickstart functionality.
• Experience in installing and configuring Red Hat Enterprise Linux and performing daily administrative tasks using tools like yum.
• Strong scripting automation skills in Perl, ksh, and bash.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience in administering physical servers, particularly IBM Power, Dell, HP, Lenovo.
• Knowledge of SAP systems and High Availability or HPC environments.
• Familiarity with Centrify for UNIX authentications, VMWare, and IBM HMC.
