About the Role

Are you ready to bring your technical expertise to one of the world’s leading bauxite mining operations? We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our WA Mining team at Huntly, working a Monday to Friday roster.

In this role, you will provide engineering expertise to support the design, implementation and ongoing improvement of electrical and control systems infrastructure across WA Mining fixed plant systems. You will play an important role in improving equipment reliability, performance, safety and operational outcomes, while working closely with engineering teams, asset owners, contractors and operational stakeholders.

You will be empowered to:

  • Provide technical support for electrical and control systems projects across WA Mining operations.

  • Review, recommend and implement improvements to system designs and equipment reliability.

  • Support safe design, installation and commissioning activities in line with applicable standards and regulations.

  • Partner with operations, maintenance, contractors and engineering service providers to deliver practical and effective engineering solutions.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement, cost reduction, waste minimisation and improved asset utilisation.

  • Coordinate engineering solutions that support safety, production, cost, quality and delivery outcomes.

What you can bring to the role

To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong technical mindset, a collaborative approach and a commitment to safe, reliable and sustainable operations.

You will ideally bring:

  • A recognised Electrical Engineering degree.

  • Experience working in a heavy industrial environment within an engineering field.

  • Exposure to industrial control systems, which will be highly regarded.

  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.

  • A business and customer-focused approach to delivering engineering support.

  • The ability to build positive relationships with operations, maintenance, contractors and technical teams.

About the Location

Huntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world’s second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa’s Pinjarra alumina refinery.
