The ideal candidate for this cross-functional role will contribute to various critical activities. These include ensuring compliance with stringent security standards such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001, thereby safeguarding the company's data and systems. The role also entails supporting Sales teams in fulfilling information security requests, ensuring that customers' concerns are promptly addressed.

Another key responsibility is integrating security measures into ongoing projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential risks. The candidate will also be responsible for operational security, implementing and monitoring security protocols to protect Akur8's IT infrastructure and assets. Additionally, the incumbent will serve as the IT correspondent for North America, acting as a liaison between the company's security team and its North American operations.

This role requires a solid understanding of security best practices, industry regulations, and compliance frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a track record of success in IT security and experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are essential.

As a CyberSecurity & IT  Engineer, your typical set of missions shall be:

  • Ensure maintaining compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001 (i.e Internal Audits, develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and guidelines…).
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to address and follow up on customer inquiries related to security.
  • Conduct risk assessments for new projects to ensure appropriate security controls are in place.
  • Integrate security measures into ongoing projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Conduct thorough security assessments of third-party vendors, suppliers, and partners to evaluate their compliance with established security policies, regulations, contracts, and industry best practices.
  • Lead training sessions to educate our employees in North America on security best practices, including phishing prevention and other forms of cyberattacks.
  • Help manage the internal IT operations for Akur8’s offices in North America.

  • Minimum 5 years of postgraduate experience in Information Security.
  • Proven track record in maintaining compliance with security standards such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
  • Deep understanding of Risk Assessment, Risk Management, Security Compliance, Security of SaaS Applications.
  • Experience in Security Incident Detection & Response.
  • Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, preferably AWS or Azure.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to discuss technical and functional matters with diverse audiences (both client and internal).
  • Eagerness to learn and discover new topics.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English - French is a plus.

Bonus

  • Experience with GitHub Actions, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with IT management tools and practices (e.g., SSO, MDM, MacOS) ( Build).
  • Broad experience in IT management and operational tasks. ( Run).
