Location: Poland; Remote

Join our Adversarial Threat Research Team!

As a Security Researcher, you will focus on analyzing automated threats targeting web applications and mobile ecosystems. You will reverse-engineer sophisticated bot frameworksranging from browser extensions and custom modified Chromium builds to mobile automation toolsand actively maintain and evolve the Akamai Mobile SDK to improve signal generation, anti-tampering defenses, and automated bot detection.

As a Security Researcher, you will dissect suspicious client apps, analyze custom binaries, and build defenses impacting millions daily. You will advance your expertise in browser fingerprinting, custom Chromium builds, extension security, mobile SDKs, and anti-bot mitigation. Your findings and detections will directly shape our roadmap and strengthen Akamai's defenses against evasive automated threats.

As a Security Researcher, you will be responsible for:

  • Updating and maintenance defensive telemetry collection mechanisms (including the Akamai Mobile SDK) to improve signal accuracy, runtime protection, and anti-tampering
  • Dissecting patched mobile applications, custom Chromium modifications, browser extensions, and stealth automation frameworks to uncover bypass methods, anti-bot evasion techniques, and scale-enabling tools
  • Analyzing large-scale web and mobile network traffic to identify browser fingerprint anomalies, protocol-level spoofs, and automated fraud vectors
  • Partnering with data science and engineering teams to convert reverse-engineering findings into automated, production-grade bot-mitigation rules

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 3+ of experience as a Security Researcher with deep expertise in analyzing, deobfuscating, reverse-engineering heavily obfuscated JavaScript and Java code.
  • Have hands-on experience leveraging AI/LLM tools and AI coding agents to accelerate reverse engineering, automate deobfuscation, and scale overall code analysis.
  • Demonstrate proven experience analyzing browser extensions and custom builds like patched Chromium, deep understanding of web automation frameworks and engine
  • Demonstrate ability to analyze and bypass advanced security controls like canvas/TLS fingerprinting, SSL pinning, and root/jailbreak detection across environments.
  • Have data-driven mindset & good verbal and written communication skills
