We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer with infrastructures orientation for our Speed team

About The Role 

The Speed team builds the platform that runs Airis in production: the pipelines and orchestration that trigger our AI models and coordinate our services, the queuing and scheduling that move work between them, and the backend that keeps all of it fast and reliable at scale. The team also builds how the platform ships - the packaging, install tooling and CI/CD that get it running across both our SaaS environment and on-prem installations.

As a Senior Backend Engineer on the team, you'll write the code that makes this run: orchestration that fans work out to services and models, backends that handle throughput and latency, and the systems that tie our data pipelines together. We're looking for an executor with strong architecture and design skills: someone who thinks and plans before coding, and then delivers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands on Backend/Platform Engineering experience, with a focus on building distributed systems, data pipelines, and orchestration.
• Proven track record of designing, building, and delivering mission-critical backend systems that other engineers and services rely on.
• Deep understanding of system coordination- queues, async flows, background workers, and service to service orchestration.
• Architectural & scale mindset: experience analyzing bottlenecks, optimizing for throughput/latency, and making smart system design trade offs.
• Proficiency in Python for developing and supporting production-grade, industrial code.
• Strong soft skills: excellent communication, team player mentality, and a solid “can do” attitude.

Nice to Have

• Experience building dedicated workflow or orchestration engines.
• Hands on experience with Async Python, message queues, worker systems, and high throughput services.
• Basic familiarity with Cloud (GCP), Kubernetes, and IaC (Terraform/OpenTofu) is enough to build against the infrastructure (ops/management isn't part of this role).
• Exposure to observability stacks (e.g., Grafana, Loki).
