Job Description:

Physical Design & Integration (PDI) team is responsible for Airframe Electrical System Installation (ESI), Mechanical System Installation (MSI), Cabin and Integration activities. Within the PDI framework, Mechanical System installation involves the concept studies, Detail Design, Integration of System Installation for serial and Development Programs The team will operate as part of a multi national team across Airbus in India, UK and Europe The team portfolio includes Single Aisle, A380 , A330 and A350 & Airbus Helicopter. ● Bachelor/ Master Degree in Aerospace, Automotive or Mechanical Engineering. ● 5-10 years of experience in mechanical system installation and configuration management. Technical Skills: ● Strong experience with Catia V5 for the creation & validation of 3D models, Engineering Drawing(2D, F3D) for System installation & Integration , exposure to 3DXperience would be an added advantage.(Tools: Catia V5,VPM, DPDS, PASS SSI, Solings and other CADCAM tools). ● DMU understanding and navigation of Product Structure with clear understanding. ● Knowledge on Aircraft build process and basic understanding of Aircraft systems. ● Experience in handling PDM/VPM tools and link to CAD models with design in context Environment. ● .Good Design knowledge on integration of Wing structure , Fuel Systems(ATA 28) and Hydraulic systems(ATA 29). ● Good understanding about Pipe design, Fuel and Hydraulic Installation design principles. ● Exposure required towards Interface studies, material selection, Sealing and fire protection details. ● Should have good understanding about routing fuel/Hydraulic lines, designing mounting brackets and ensuring system functionality. ● Good Project Management skills to drive the performance KPIs & improvements proactively. ● Good understanding of Aircraft Function, Operation & Processes. ● Awareness of Airbus processes & methods would be an added advantage. Soft skills: ● Very good communication and presentation skills. ● Ability to demonstrate effectiveness in holding conversations with customers and customercentric outreach. ● Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities and requirements. ● Demonstrate agility and autonomy in a transnational environment. ● Demonstrate ability to work as a team in a highly collaborative environment. ● Ability to coordinate the efforts of a large team of diverse specialists & experts. ● Ability to lead in an environment of constant change involving multiple internal processes. Responsibilities: ● The Jobholder will be responsible for performing Design concepts, improvise design and Ensuring proper equipment installation and integration to the Aircraft system ( Preferably Wing, Fuel and Hydraulic systems) ● Provide Engineering assistance in solving design issues from Manufacturing and supplier concerns ● Application of the new technologies while building new aircraft definitions. ● Propose and implement the improvements in terms of System Installation with impact on weight, lead-time and cost of the aircraft. ● Ensure the consistency between the Configured DMU and the design intent for the Airbus design teams. ● Network & liaise with a broad range of Airframe, Systems including Industrialization, Standardization, Research & Environment Integration. ● Propose and implement digitization ideas through new ways of working. ● Reporting of all activities as per Airbus procedures. ● Willing to travel internationally and work in a multi-cultural environment on a need basis.
