Job Description:

At the Airbus Helicopters site in Donauwörth we are looking for the next possible date to support current and future projects for a 

Software Verification Engineer (m/f/d).

This position is also possible with reduced weekly working hours of at least 30 hours/week and an adapted scope of duties.

We are looking for a Software Verification Engineer (m/f/d) with expertise in certification processes (ED-12 / DO-178) to support our development projects. This role is critical to the successful development and integration of embedded software that implements safety critical functions in our avionics systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute software verification plans to ensure compliance with certification standards (e.g., DO-178C) while integrating agile practices
• Collaborate with design and development teams to understand software requirements and translate them into detailed verification strategies
• Perform rigorous testing and analysis to identify and resolve defects, ensuring software meets all requirements
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of verification activities and results in accordance with certification
• Support the preparation and review of certification artifacts and liaise with certification bodies as needed
• Continuously improve verification processes and methodologies, leveraging agile principles to enhance efficiency and responsiveness

Required Skills:

• Completed degree (Bachelor with additional extended experience and further training or Master and additional experience and further training) Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience in software verification and validation, preferably in the aviation industry
• Strong knowledge of relevant certification standards and guidelines (e.g. DO-178C)
• Proficiency in software testing tools and methodologies, and experience with agile frameworks (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Hands-on experience with DevOps
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly
• English: business level/fluent, German/French/Spanish: desirable
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and precision
• Quality-focused: Dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of software quality and safety
• Collaborative: Able to work effectively within a team and across departments to achieve common goals
• Proactive & Innovative: Always looking for ways to improve processes, embrace Agile methodologies, and incorporate new technologies
